My experiences online dating com - latvian dating customs
I met a girl online and eventually took her home to meet my parents. She told everyone a different story that night about who she was. When she got in the car I told her I saw them but that it was okay since I like kids (even though her profile said she didn’t have kids).
I started to count backward from 100 to get my mind off of it.
90% of the time it would end, or start should I say, with me wanting to get the hell out of there as fast as possible.
I remember my first every date I had gotten from the internet. She looked great in the pictures, she had quite a cute voice on the phone, she was fluent in English and there seemed to be some connection. I had spent quite a bit of time planning something fun and exciting to do on the date and I spent a lot of time imagining how well the date would go! She looked like she got hit in the face by a shovel. She looked like a doppelgänger for Sloth from the Goonies.
I think the longest time I spent speaking to a woman online before actually meeting her was a few months and the shortest time was like a few hours.
I would highly recommend NOT doing what I did haha.
My date walked into the coffee shop and I felt my anxiety spike even more. Ten minutes into our conversation, I felt my tense shoulders relax.
I was relieved that he was normal, a good conversationalist, funny and a good listener. I’ll tell you what I was worried about: the worst case scenario.
She kept asking me if I would go to Missouri to live with her, and kept saying she loved me to tears. I told her I needed to save up money for about three months.
I worked two jobs for three months and was completely exhausted.
But safety is definitely a consideration when meeting a stranger.
Presumably the person you’re meeting from an online dating site is a stranger. You can set up a whole online dating profile and never meet a single soul. Online dating isn’t a time to be polite and give every person who contacts you “a chance.” If you’re sure you’re not interested right away, just write a quick note letting them know.
"This might have been a funny story if it weren't for the fact that people need a little loving and, God, sometimes it's sad all the (stuff) they have to go through to find some." Amen, brother.
